Break My Ego
With all humility
and gentleness
I want to live
in a manner worthy
of my call to holiness.
Break my ego.
Fill me with love
and patience
slow to anger
preserving the grace
that you poured in me.
Oh, Tony, if only our egos could be broken. But as Paul reveals in Romans 7, we live with the lifelong challenge of choosing love as opposed to what is not love, of choosing new life over the old. But the Spirit is our helper! And God is ready to forgive when we falter. -Glen
