Breath In, Breath Out Poem by Roselyn A.M.

Breath In, Breath Out

Have you heard the political issues
Have you watched the latest news
Are you not tired of listening their views
Feel dismayed by their alibis and excuse

The hearing about human greediness
The stories behind the ill gotten wealth
The selfish people craving for power
These are among the top on the air

In time like this, step back…
Why don’t you take a moment
Free yourself from the uproar
Look outside and feel the nature

Let the privileged do their share
And the exploited to let go of shame
Let everyone on the senate do their job
We voted for them and that is their prize

In spite of wars and abuses
Smile and let the beauty of the world radiate
Turn your face up toward the sky
And feel the loving embrace of God

So let me take this as a chance
I challenge you to join me in prayer
Let’s hope that love would not cease
Pray for our nation’s salvation and peace
