Breathe Poem by Nam Hoang

Breathe

Rating: 5.0

When tears run dry, and emotions are high
When I want to smile but I whimper and sigh
When no more tears run across my face
One on one, you confess for now this is all your can take

See, I’d give the world to be with you
But when your not here, what am I suppose to do?
Like a good guy feeling bad
In a mad world with the wrong path

In the deadest of nights I hold my heart trying to ease the pain
Feeling nothing, it courses through my veins
With every heartbeat, it beats for her, it beats for you
Hurting inside, I don’t know what to do
It hurts so bad, you keeping on making me blue

I know that someone broke your heart before
But it wasn’t me who left the pieces on the floor
It’s me that’s out here lying in the rain
Taking the largest toll, feeling love, feeling this pain

It’s like being caught paying someone else’s crimes
Caught in between a wrong trying to do a right
Looking for answers in the darkness of night
I want to see her so bad in my future
I need help healing these wounds with her sutures

I’ve had my heart broken before, all of these things attained
I just need someone else to take these things out to drain
Each dawn I rise mired with these ancient sorrows
No telling what’s going to happen into tomorrow

See, if I could choose between breathing and loving you
I’d tell you I love you with my last breath
It’ll be you in my heart I kept
For all of these things that I have conceived
It’ll feel better once your back, then I’ll breathe.

The last lines are really jam packed with emotions, You are my heart, you are my soul, You are my life's ultimate goal. CP

wondrous phrases and words. I especially loved your last paragraph, of the choice. It draws us back, emotions...but to not feel it would be doom, too, yes.
