Brian 'dipper' Duddy - A Rare Breed Poem by Alexander Johnson

Brian 'dipper' Duddy - A Rare Breed

It was great to get to know you, in the short time that we knew,
I thank you for those happy days, it's a shame we had so few.
Today up there, somewhere... Wherever we all can rest in peace,
Dipper can beat the drums for us, and those drums need never cease.
You were a father, a Jazzer a band member and a friend,
A life full of fun and laughter, it was a joy right to the end.
We can think of you and laugh and smile, that truly is a gift we gain,
Some might say 'it's a sad day today', but we can think of you and smile again.
Life was and is so very short, for knowing someone just like you,
That rare breed 'Dipper' Duddy, to you I bid adieu
