Broken Certainty. Poem by Driss Ezzireg

Broken Certainty.

When the sun is lit
And men grow older a bit
And the flowers wear their resplendent colors
Time smiles at the world and winks at eternity.
When night‘s wings are spread
Over the fiery, weary world
And the stars sprinkle the infinite fields of the sleepy gods
And the shepherd moon looks over its disparate flock
Time snores at the shores of the mindless world
And dreams of satiety.
When time quits
And men are left unaided
With loaded burdens of sadness and scores of madness
The breath of future despondency lurks around the shadowy grounds
Of broken certainty.
