Broken Home - Poem by Aurora Lee

She is living a lie, Every day of her life.
She's been forced to fake a smile

Lie when they start to ask questions
A girl her age never should've been asked.
Covering it up, hiding her parents dirty little secrets.

Now she cries all alone
In the bed you used to lie in
No one to turn to, no place left to go

So she find some sort of shelter
In that place she calls home
Crying her heart out, everytings hurts

She feels so alone,
you didn't answer the phone

Her daddy stopped caring
A long time ago
But he still likes to beat her around

Her mama ain't around
'Cause she went out and found her self a new man.

She wants something real
Something she can touch

But as for right now, it will be enough
Pretending that she can still pretend.
She's not from a broken home.
