Broken In Cesspools Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Broken In Cesspools

Swinging high and low on a tire swing, abandoned now,
for children are indoors playing video games.

Testing their minds with the play of unreality, where-
as, if outside, they'd be using their imaginations.

Creating a future of new inventions and technology to
share with the world as it continues to await talent.

Looking forward to ideas of today's youth, but un-
fortunately many of them have been waylaid.

Many times through drugs and alcohol, their minds being
pickled and fried beyond their existence.

Leaving them broken in cesspools of evil that have cap-
tured their souls and intellects and will not let go.
