Built For Comfort Not For Speed Poem by Brian Taylor

Built For Comfort Not For Speed

There never yet was poet
who was fat
(or never while his flesh
pressed down upon him) .

Those who munch their way
to oblivion
to escape life’s tedium,
whose aspiration
is to sleep
night and day,
never find the inspiration
to transcend this massy mesh
that weighs upon them.
