Buses Of Iowa City Poem by T.L. Toadvine

Buses Of Iowa City

Rating: 5.0

She searches for me
Through her memories
Through the years
Through the scraps of life
That I so insufficiently provided

I walked the streets of the town
Where she was medicine to all
Who were being robbed by time

I boarded one of the buses of Iowa City
To find her face hidden by a mask
Her nearly black eyes
Shining like the sun
And i knew that somehow
I would ride this bus forever
Wherever it would take us
