Bush Fly Poem by keith brown

Bush Fly

I've tried all the ointments I even tried raid
to the flies all round me no difference it's made
They get In me ear hole they get in me eye
cause nothing gets rid of the damn Aussie fly,

I've tried wearing a hat with an old ladies net
the more that I try the more flies what I get
They buzz round my eye lid they get up me nose
They even hold parties on the end of me toes
They no doubt will be here on the day that I die
Cause nothing gets rid of the damn Aussie

As the temperature rises they just multiple
It's gets bad enough to make an old bushy cry
I've tried all the remedies the old wifes say
But these bloody black flies they just won't go away

I've tried the old bush mans and even tried off
It's seems that's the quick way to piss the fly of
I've waved me arms and nodded me head
I just wish there'd piss off and pester old ted

The only relief you'll find beyond doubt
Is go back inside and lock the bloody flies out
You can sit there alone in your old birthday suit
While your arms take a rest from the Aussie salute

There's no doubt they'll be here the day that I die
cause nothing gets rid of those damn Aussie flies
