But Give It One More Try Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

But Give It One More Try

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes darkness has shaded the window of my life
It's hard then for me to believe the sun will still shine
Loneliness crunches my hope
My problems though small often are making me blind

Prayer works but loneliness makes me doubt
Music on the radio doesn't seem to satisfy
Holidays depress me because of expectations
I'm sad but so used to it I don't cry

I might write a letter but I don't expect a reply
I will succeed at stuff but I'll have to work hard
Some work though, is just a waste of try
Life's an empty boring fancy greeting card

Sent to you to make up for the lack of love
People think they've done you a favor
But so few actually write a letter with the card
It's kind of like eating candy that has lost it's flavor

To keep up with the Jones I do the same thing to
Life is Pathetic but we have to make appearances
Or just give up and lose hope
Because you never know when something good will happen, you've got to take your chances

Because you know it's darkest just before dawn
When you're about to give up fishing you'll get a bite
When the holiday is over often you get a long letter
Don't give up yet give it one more try and it might turn out right
