But I Do (1) Poem by Victoria Ritchie

But I Do (1)

I'm just so curious
But I'm afraid, too.
Will I have the chance to ask you?
What's the best thing to do?

I wish I could read your mind
And see what's inside your heart.
So I don't have to ask you,
And that you don't have to tell me, too.

If you'll only search it through my eyes
You'll see then, what's inside...
And if you'll only listen to my heart,
Then you'll know, it only beats for you...

Why don't you just let me know?
If I have something to hope for or nothing.
Why don't you just let it show?
That same feeling for me and everything.

If I could only ask you straight,
'Do you love me or not? ' So I would know.
And if I could only tell you straight,
'I love you so much! ' Then you will know...

But do I really have to do this?
What is it that bothers you so?
Why do we have to hurt ourselves?
While I'm just waiting here for you.
