Butterfly Poem by Vaida Marea

Butterfly

You could never love me
Not even if you tried
‘Cause everything you based us on
Was made up of your lies
You could have crushed me in your hand
Taken my air, my life
Instead of ripping off my wings
You let me go and fly
But you knew exactly what to do
You freed me after my fondness grew
And now I’m chained invisibly
I have to be with you
