Butterfly Beauty Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Butterfly Beauty

Rating: 5.0

I’ve never lived
In the valley of the sun,
I’ve never slept
In a magnolia bed,
I’ve never brushed
My loved one’s hair
On a Saturday morning
Or kissed her eyes
After she’s wept.

Life is butterfly beauty
Flying away;
The essence of joy
Is only momentarily sensed
And impossible to possess.

I must be grateful
For every heartbeat of this existence.
