Butterfly Kisses - Poem by Kelly Kurt

From my left side, I see her approach
She doesn’t think I notice
But I know what’s going to happen
I turn slightly to the right
And gaze at an imaginary something
A warm, soft nose nuzzles my cheek
Pressing harder and harder to close the distance
A five year old’s giggle sneaks out
Before ridiculously long lashes
Beat like butterfly wings
And tickle my face and heart

    This is beautiful, Kelly!
I was looking to read your newest poem and discovered that I had already read it back in September! You must be taking a little vacation from writing. Anyway, I looked at some of your other titles and decided to try this one. Wow! What a find! This is precious. I will add it to my favorites list. (Report) Reply
