By The Fire

I want to yell at winter to freeze itself in place
Never go away as to not remove the last trace
Of the only thing that ever meant anything to me
A taste of the coldest touch you can not see

An interesting mix of the senses in the last line. I had to read this one a few times to get the meaning. The speaker wishes to freeze in place a taste of a touch (so cold) . I suppose one can wish to never lose something that has left them....yet the only way to maintain it, is to put it on ice, so to speak...yet it is not the same. Nice writing.
