C.V.8 - 9 Poem by GRANT FRASER

C.V.8 - 9

C.V.

8.

It's like a dream
now,
I went from pub,
to pub,
I even forgot about
the virus,

I bought steak
in "Mark&Sparks",

and beleive it or not,
I still have a library card,
so got a few Dvd's
and a cd of 50's Doo Wop,

It was so noisy though,
and I was swishing down
craft beer,
which gets you more drunk!

I was so pie eyed
when I got back,
and the dog was happy
to see me,
so we shared the steak,

I forget about things,
and so we should,
carrying this mental weight
around all the time,

it requiresrenewal
or a philosophy,
something better to cling too,

I still don't know what
I was born for...,

for this...
for this...

Oh! No!
not another day,
the precipice
makes me so dizzy,

maybe my soul is f******!

maybe I lack one,

I always say I'm going
to go out and do something,
and I never do,

no the ocean comes in,
and then goes out again,

and so do I,
that's about as far as it goes,

I still lift up stones, though,
and look under them!

And this microcosm
is thriving,
away from it all!

I am nothing
but a spec
of consciousness,

living in a blank zoo..
