Cable Car Poem by Mark Heathcote

Cable Car

A cable car has me as its passenger
And it won't go any faster
This is precious cargo, it whispers
Please hold on to your britches
Don't be scared; you've not far to go.

Hang in there, boy; I can see you shake
I can see you're ready to jump,
I can see it's been a journey,
A journey you'd never taken if troubled.
But once we're there, on that terra firma.

You'll never believe how stunning the view is.
You'll never believe you were ever forsaken.
You'll never believe you could have fallen,
You'll never prophecies the weather
You'll never once look back again.
