I agree with your viewpoint, and Valsa George has to say. Yes, places of worship are required for those that can worship only the Manifest God. Bhagavad-Gita also allowed this. Yet, the best temple ever made is one's inner being where resides one's conscience keeper we call soul.

God is omnipresent and He is there in every atom of the universe! To lock him in a temple, church or mosque is limiting His power! But the ordinary man needs a medium or a symbol where he can perceive the presence of a God. So places of worship have relevance to satisfy the ordinary man's limited power of perception of such a comprehensive mystical reality! Great write!
