Called To Serve Yav (Young Adult Volunteers) - Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Dedicated to my grand-daughter Amanda

Before the sun rises above the horizon
your heart beats with the rhythm
of a thousand drums…the excitement
that fills your undimmed eyes
is enough to light a subdued sky

Answering the call of a distant voice
with bags packed…you are willing
Ready to leave the familiarity of home...
the challenges feel right and inviting
Your selfless dedication is inspiring

As the day ends… your reassuring words
are sent… you've reached you destination
All is well, and I can rest with the satisfaction
knowing your intended dreams have landed
joining others of faith… your joy is expanded

The Kingdom of God is here on earth.
