Camping Out Cold

As poets do,
I used to camp out for the first freesia.

Too cold that grew;
too old I too.

Now I do it
for the first scentless poppy to go straight.

Psst! I need some advice:
what scented flower flowers first

round the middle of spring
that as the poppy looks equally nice?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
poppy stems are bent, then straighten to flower. In Adelaide freesias come first in very late August, then poppies 10 days to a fortnight later.

Needing some advice that flowers do at first amazes mind. Flowers even grow in too cold environment. As like as poets you express wonderful imagery of coldness. Wisely penned poem is shared here...10
