Can Any One Explain Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Can any one explain?
How does people maintain?
The popularity chain
On top to remain

I fail to understand
What is their stand?
To keep others off in competition
What sort of key they hold for ignition

One remains on top all of sudden
Their names doesn't appear in main list even
They come like rainy cloud
I find no specific contribution to speak loud

I have no appetite for first position
But find it fishy and feel little odd composition
Literature is such holy field
Only deserving people should be praised and held

With lots of hard work and input
I find myself simply cut
From coming near to the goal
As some one suddenly appears from behind as ghost

I congratulate all who support such move
Try nothing to encourage talent and improve
Rather indulge in praising at personal level
I salute to all if such is the intention to excel
