Can'T Poem by Holly Jamestone

Can'T

Can't strap myself to the tracks
Near the freight train of pain
As it shakes me to the core
And rends my newfound dignity

Can't see the sense of the loss
Or the loss of the sense
That this is not normal
Yet feels so familiar

Can't stop the allure but delight
In knowing that I'm stronger and
Coping with all that is dealt
In this less than full deck

Can't strap myself to the tracks
Near the freight train of pain
As it shakes my inner being
And insane would be the descriptor

Can't have my cake and eat it too
As the indigestion is overwhelming
