Can You? Poem by Jane Sparkes

Can You?

Ground me through life's vicious fight
Be there in the darkest night
Take me when I dread I might
Be less the woman for you by sight
And love me through it all, my light
Run through my days and save my plight

I was a bit confused by this, but it sounded a bit like a plea! In which case, a bit sad.
