Can you blame me for loving him?
He commands life's darkness away,
From the sun he coaxes its golden drops
And lays them before me each day
After a cloudy, starless night,
With happy heart I greet the day,
He helps me navigate life's stormy seas,
I find rest in a peaceful bay
Can you blame me for loving him?
I'll not lower my head in shame!
My fire of passion burned out long ago...
This man's love rekindled the flame
Who listened when I said I thirst
For the fruit of love's vintage wine?
He brought me a taste of the sweetest grapes,
And now I'm longing for the vine
Can you blame me for loving him,
Though my heart vibrates to his song?
Then could you fault the rose for its beauty,
Would you find its fragrance too strong!
There can be no blame placed on love,
Frail vesture of God's invention
That gently binds our heart's desire,
Love's fulfillment was His intention!
Love is from heaven true love I mean and not ephemeral one nice
