Can You See Me Poem by Mekenzie Blake

Can You See Me

Can you see, Can you see that i used to be like you. I used to have it all, But now it has gone, No more then a grain of sand beneath my feet. Or like me cant you see, That im lost, Lost in complete darkness trying to find my way. I cant see in this time this place why im so alone, misplaced in a sea of faces were no one see's me. I cant see that hand that will guide me through the storm. Were are you when i need you for i cant see you at all. Every morning that i wake the nightmare again begins, But with out a helping hand the nightmare will never end. I try to carry on by using a mask, That front that hides us all, With a smile and a cover of laughter, Do you see past that im not sure. Instead what you see is what you chose to see, But still nothing beyond your eyes, Because behind close doors, is the only time i lock the door to cry. Like many others, That is just life i guess, a deep intense scar that hurts none the less, A scar that can be deepened by those with miss judging eyes. Not even understanding what i truly feel inside. If it was you here and not me, What would you want me to say, for no words could change a thing, But comfort would go along way. for those who do not care, just remember the words that i say, It could of happened to any of use, Even you one of these's days. Because there is more then what you see, more that meets the eye. Don't judge those passing strangers, As they pass you by.
