I cannot pretend—
The divine is nearer to me
Than stars cradled in the folds of night,
For His tender voice holds me close,
A song that echoes deep within my soul.
My sun, my essence, hidden
In the quiet hours of twilight,
Is nearer than the morning's gentle touch,
That glistens on dew-laden blades.
Those dewdrops, after their brief shimmer,
Vanish like the moon's silent tears,
As the sun awakens from its slumber,
And the world bathes in its golden light.
Yet soon, I realize—
The sun within me shines more warm and bright
Than the one that lights the heavens,
Illuminating the cosmos within.
