Canoe Ride Poem by Ima Ryma

Canoe Ride

A canoe, my girlfriend and I
Rented for a row on the lake.
I told her since I was the guy
And heavier, I needed take
The back end of the canoe, and
She, lighter, to the front would go.
I lied to make her understand
The one in the front had to row.
I got a 'you fib' look from her,
But she did do as I did ask.
The canoe ride was fun for sure,
While both of us did assigned task.

I was enjoying a nice snore
Until she smacked me with the oar.
