Canyons Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Canyons

Deep in the canyons where rivers live
Quiet seas of still love
Spirit whispers peace
All these hasty dreams dissipate
Renewal takes away the trite
Solace of the inward cleansing
Naked and broken
There really is only one main choice
My soul needs joy beyond time

The journey laden with doors
Doors that lead too sorrow
Fields where pleasure drains
Broken hearts along the rocks
Dry places dressed like streams
Shepherds in fallow fields
Thorns of eternal silence
Leave the hollow world
Our eternal soul thirsts

Brilliant stars in the desert
All hatred purged
Forgiveness is a choice not a feeling
Fill up with meekness
Fill up with true hope
Meditation has paths in gardens
Daily prayer brings strength
Shed the false man
A roaring lion prowls the world

Grief walks the canyons for the river
