Captains Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Captains

Captains

Once we were ambitious
Wore stars on shoulders.

Poem read:
"We do soar the skies,
For clouds and stars! "

We held yokes and sticks
Moved our toys, with glee.

Now oldies without teeth
Bent, folded to our knees
In mirrors our shapes are
Similar to the males' genitals
In sleep, after job; or child's-like.

For talk's sake we keep name:
Captain
Captain
Captain

A to Z, most of us,
Many if not total,
Claim so foolishly:
"I flew low and high."
"Made perfect Lazy Eight."
"My best was Immelmann."

We stick to sticks in dreams!

"Oh shut up! " I tell us,
"Be honest, look at us
What you see overall?
But wrinkled, fallen cocks,
Out of use and no good…"
