Cares Only For Himself Poem by Randy McClave

Cares Only For Himself

It was too rainy and way too cold
So, at the graveyard he never showed,
He didn't want any rain on his hair
So, he never went to any of the gravesites there.
In France he didn't pay his respect at one grave
Where lied the fallen U.S brave,
Again he thought only of and about himself
And not for no one else.

It was rainy and cold not the weather they sought
But, for freedom they still bravely fought,
They walked through the coldness and the mud
To serve the country that they loved.
They walked, they crawled and they also died
With both honor and prided,
Here in the inclement weather they are now buried
In heaven their souls were carried.

They were the enlisted and they were also the drafted
From mighty oaks they were all crafted,
While he was the coward with the bone spurs
To which traitors and cowards confers.
He calls the brave captured and the fallen losers
What was it in for them he asked other troopers,
He didn't go to the graves, because his hair might get wet
But, the soldiers fought in it, with honor and bravery and no regret..
