Carry my cross and follow Christ, I must;
The burden of my cross is lighter than the Lord's;
The vagaries of life and its uncertainties,
Are challenges, formidable, dear God.
Carry my cross and follow Christ, I will;
The Lord will give me rest from my troubles all;
The world I live steeped in sinfulness,
Is a challenge formidable, dear God.
Carry my cross and follow Christ, I should,
And walk in the shadow of the Holy Cross;
The heinous crimes and blunted conscience,
Are challenges, formidable, dear God.
Carry my cross and follow Christ, I shall;
The Will of God is my will as well;
The ungodliness and satanic worship I see
Are challenges, formidable, dear God.
Nevertheless, I will carry my cross for sake of Christ;
He is my Good Shepherd, my way and light;
Through Him alone must I enter Heaven;
The Holy Spirit will dwell in my soul and guide.
