Cat Rhyme

A novelist in an Age of Poetry
can't but
by poetry be impressed.

In an age without,
a novelist can't be;
in an age with less,
there's less impress.

Re the former,
and eg Fielding,
his prose
can be arranged and read like a poem.

His novel, a very long poem,
if it was mine,
would end in a foot rhyme,
what I'm calling 'cat',
une rime chatte,
for that
it gives a poem a pat.
