Catch Your Breath Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Catch Your Breath

You only get a second to catch your breath
In your feelings deeply touched,
oh, I have caught it must be rough
But crying wolf won't get you offline
Had to hang you cause we're past our prime
This was the bed you have made
And there are dues to be paid
Against the crimes you have laid

Standing there before me saying
How you don't want to be ridiculed
How you think that it seem so cruel
Must have lost your mind

You must won't think I'll leave
You must won't think I'll leave
An emeralds color is undiminished
it's a fact you will try and diminish
You must won't think I'll leave
You must won't think I'll leave.
I'll leave you there to die in sorrow
But you will try to get to thinking
how you going spin the bottle.

Oh yeah, I know what's going on
And there is nights where you ain't home
Yeah, maybe you thought that I was sleeping
Why would you be out so late, if you weren't creeping?

Because it's given me clues
Cruising the streets like something's calling you
When confronted you walk away nonchalantly
the warnings been interpreted promptly

Standing there before me saying
How you don't want to be ridiculed
How you think that it seem so cruel
Must have lost your mind

You must won't think I'll leave
You must won't think I'll leave
An emeralds color is undiminished
it's a fact you will try and diminish
You must won't think I'll leave
You must won't think I'll leave.
I'll leave you there to die in sorrow
But you will try to get to thinking
how you going spin the bottle.

How could you say it meant nothing
When you've done everything there's to do
Baby it don't feel dear to you
How about get out, leave
Cause this case is closed
Thanks to the evidence you provided me
