Chained In My Longing Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Chained In My Longing

Bound by the weight of want,
I move, yet stay still.
Each thought circles back,
a loop I cannot break.

Desire grips like iron,
soft in its beginning,
unyielding in its hold.
Freedom fades into the distance,
a mirage I can only watch.

In this cage of my own making,
I sit with the ache,
unwilling to let it go.
