Chameleon Poem by Glenn Ford

Chameleon

Rating: 5.0

You cannot see me I'm invisible
As I walk around in the crowd
Although I am six foot plus and fifteen stone
And striding straight and proud.

You could seek me for the rest of your days
Searching and sifting through the throng
But you'll not catch sight and try as you might
Every corner you look will be wrong.

For I am not there you see I am somewhere else
So your searching would be pointless
I could be as small as a mouse or as big as a house
And my transparency would be faultless.

But close your eyes and I lose my disguise
You will see me through to my soul
and then you'll see to your surprise
You knew me not in part but in whole.
