Change Poem by Marilyn Jean

Change

Change is everywhere
Like clouds in my sky
Or Stars in my night
This Love in my life
Not that it matters
You see

Just it is. Eve
What more, what else?
Too soon night falls
Already I am cold
So know, please
It happened

Change was not chosen
But choose me
Then drown all
Before wrecking me here
Where I saw you
Rather sad too

Change was not called for
Instead took its breath
Then nothing wanted
Ever to fit back in its box
Do you know, Eve?
I do

Change is so strange
Sticking to me like glue
Rubbing it, only spreads it
Nothing can ever help
It lives here
Look and see

Change is all around
So have we changed
I write here
Then see you there
Soon another day
More to change
