Change - Poem by Leslie Alexis

The blood of fallen heroes
has seen the sun.
Their lives gave birth
to this new earth.
A new Jerusalem.
The right to vote
has brought change
to the motherland.
A black man has finally
realized the dream.
Marcus Garvey,
Dubois, Martin Luther King,
and our forefathers in
heaven are singing,
'We are marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Zion'
