Change Of Mind Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Change Of Mind

Humour Intended:

They met one night at the local hop,
He didn't buy her at the Tesco Shop!
But early one morn he heard a soft voice
Secretly whisper 'She's the wrong choice'.
With paper in one hand, pen in the other
He wrote a note - 'oh please find another'.
Changing his mind without a receipt
became the norm in mid-morning heat.
A letter she returned accepting the blow
Saying: If you have second thoughts
just let me know - 'I have loved only you
from the very first start - oh please ask
your mind to speak to your heart'.
But everything he bought was replaced
Maybe because he shopped in haste.
He was young and fickle and slightly blind
And 'suddenly' would change his mind.
