Chaotic Consequence Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Chaotic Consequence

The man was searching,
looking all about...
'What did you lose? ' I asked.
'My soul! ' he answered.
'How? ' I asked, astonished.
'I forgot how to pray! ' he
answered, as he continued
looking around.
'You won't find it in the streets! ' I
cautioned softly, but, he did not
hear me, over the shouts of his
conscience...
