Cheating Death Poem by Ericka Johnson

Cheating Death

Rating: 3.5

What if I cheated DEATH
Would it come back for revenge?
And if it missed a second time,
Then would it take my friend?
Do we hold the hand of fate?
Or is the choice not ours
Imagine if we knew our time,
Then life would be so sour
We don't know, do we? no one does
DEATH comes so unexpected
DEATH just creeps up,
Like a thief, on a dark night
A frail thing, yet strong
A collector at your door
Coming a on dark, cold night
To make your life no more
