Cheeseburgers Poem by Weldon Davis

Cheeseburgers

Rating: 4.5

A friend of mine said today
That while in jail
All he needed was to
Be with his girlfriend
About twice a month
Ha.
I said forget that
I'd rather have
A cheeseburger
Twice a month

As the reader
You're probably wondering
How if possible
A cheeseburger
Could compare
To a woman's loving arms
I'll tell you

A cheeseburger
Can be shared with a friend
Without it getting
'Complicated'
A cheeseburger
Makes no promises of
Forever
They are extremely satisfying
For the moment though

Cheeseburgers might make you fat
But they won't leave you
For the pool boy
They won't ask you to change
They dress themselves
How you prefer
I like mine Carolina style
With chili, mustard, and slaw
A woman wearing that
Would look ridiculous
To say the least

Cheeseburgers pass no judgement
Cheeseburgers come with no drama
Unless you eat 100,000
Of them in a lifetime

But then again the pure bliss and comfort
They provide
Would be worth
The heart attack they cause
Cause
Most women make your ticker
Stop working
Way sooner
Than that

Great poem if you fix two small errors: Unless you eat 100,00 should be Unless you eat 100,000 and Most women make you ticker Stop working should be Most women make your ticker Stop working
