China Owns America Poem by Juan Olivarez

China owns America, is this for real,
Every corner store, every last windmill?
The oceanfront property out by the sea,
We belong to China, we're no longer free.

They own Chevrolet, and Budweiser too,
Peter Piper Pizza, And our sky of blue.
They own the Dallas Cowboys I've heard it said,
And the house you live in, even your bed.

Those damned politicians, sold us down the drain,
They even sold Amtrak, that high speed train.
They'd sell their own mother's in the blink of an eye,
Even Southwest Airlines, It's a new red sky.
