Choctaw Cold Case Poem by Hubert Wilson

Choctaw Cold Case

Was there a murder plot?
Inhabitants in Sherman had not forgot!
Language in the will was clear.
Swift would be final payment to Nat Jones in his 30th year.
Only living son of the wealthy Choctaw chief.
Noted by Choctaws his sudden demise with disbelief!
No explanation for Nat's fall or alleged suicide leap.
Just the Father's fortune for others to reap?
Out of the Choctaw Nation was Nat lured?
Nefarious Gaylord cronies for others the Choctaw wealth procured?
Expropriated for a hospital OUTSIDE the Choctaw land?
Secretly to destroy Nat and Choctaw heritage out of hand?

A nation cannot die if its culture and history live - and the devious are exposed. 75092
