Choosing A Leader Poem by Hebert Logerie

Choosing A Leader

Be careful whom you choose to lead or to be your leader
Not all kings, czars, shahs, emirs or presidents are leaders
However, there are buzzards or loudmouths in power
That the blind voters have absolutely no control over
First these wild villains were either chosen or selected
At the time of the election in order to be the winners
Citizens, be careful whom you vote for. Some elected
Scuzzbags can become the worst nightmares or errors
For our world. A leader is a unifier, a reasonable fighter
A strong and bright individual or a dedicated Big Brother
All presidents are not good leaders. Some are criminals
Who act like heartless dictators, they kill like animals
Like lions or tigers chasing baby rabbits or tiny fawns
That lay low to be devoured. Some streets and lawns
Are stained with the blood of innocent citizens who've voted
For henchmen who've become too powerful, too agitated
And too violent. Others kill for phony or spurious reasons
They are afraid to lose the ill-gotten power. New seasons
Come from time to time. New seasons are rarely in favor
Of blood stained despots who've caused so much horror
Time is the worst formidable enemy that many tyrants
Fear the most. There's a time when the weak innocents
Wake up to regain the power. Life is stuffed with good surprises
As the entire world is pondering and watching the prizes
What you see is not what you get. Whom you voted for
Can become highly deleterious to the future of the climate
Be careful and think over before you vote for a candidate
Who's too corrupt, narcissistic and who behaves like a boar
Be careful whom you choose to lead or to be your leader
Voters, taxpayers, do not cede your power to a bad actor.
