Choosing Isolation Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Choosing Isolation

Walking along to songs of love and loss, tears being stranded,
choked within this heart, alone and unpretentious, rising feel-
ings flowing into lava-like emotions.

Overtaking the emptiness and loneliness of another night and
day in life, searching, yet never finding a way to divulge the
avenues needed to converge within.

Bringing all sensations into another moment of time, hoping
that it will eliminate the tears of loss, not really thinking
so, but allowing wishful thinking to commence anyway.

Moving slowly through a myriad of days and nights without
really living moments of life, feeling abandoned, choosing
isolation to that of having company closing in, suffocating
with the best of intentions that just don't help.
