Christian Path Poem by Phil Daniels

Christian Path

I walked with Him to that pathway
Which up the mountainside it wound
He walked as though so smooth
Not so I as rocks and boulders found

He forged ahead so quickly
He soon disappeared around the bend
I yelled "please wait for me"
As I endeavoured to catch Him at the end

I very quickly discovered this
Christlike walk would be
Rough and tough with hurts
And pains, trials so tribulatory

Persecutions off my soul remove
Every burden every weighty sack
For my Jesus said, take up my yoke
Place the burden on His back

So take up your Cross today
And follow Christ, just Him
If you prefer the world around
Its joys and pleasures lead to death and sin
