Christmas This Year Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Christmas This Year

Rating: 5.0

Wintry weather…
Drab and depressing
Holiday excitement
Is progressing
Colorful decorations
Are impressing…
It is a time of year
That reminds of blessings

Times are harder
Less money for gifts
Caught a cold
My nose runs and sniffs
The landscape is white
The ground is frozen stiff
Hearing from loved ones
Warms the heart and gives a lift

No more credit card spending
The consequences are severe
The thermostat is lowered
But it won’t lessen Christmas cheer
Priorities are based on necessities
It is obvious and clear
The absence of abundance
Makes family and friends more dear
