Christmas Tree Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Christmas Tree

Christmas tree

Christmas is early
Too early and foolish.

Radio had a song
Repeated and was nice:
“Thy leaves are so unchanged.”

Heard tree in my mind:
“You; damn wrong…”

Meant to say:
“I would be only if human was away …
I was far…none of you was around…”

How can leaves be unchanged
if tree is cut off… is in room and exposed
is décor…?
