Christmas City Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Christmas City

Christmas city

Like garments emptied of corpses
washed and hung, is city, empty.

Germs are gone
visible the stars
blue is, the sky.

Halo and some clouds
nature got back a life.

Christmas
prolong, prolong

Let the shops be closed
send people to cottage
let these germs go away
"Drink wine by fire…"

And later?

Cars few and trucks are scarce
absent are rollers and bicycles.

Those in town
not always and not all
carry some flowers
in the wreaths and bouquet
on grills of their cars.

And will soon be gone lost
that huge red wearing; beard white.
